HISTORY
MoCo Pride Youth was founded in October, 2019 by a group of middle and high school students in Montgomery County. Since it was created, MoCo Pride Youth has been working to build a strong community of LGBTQ+ youth from around the county and advocate for a more inclusive, safer environment for everyone. MoCo Pride Youth has hosted monthly forums, workshops, and discussions, created educational resources for SGAs and MCPS schools, presented at numerous pride events, and engaged in advocacy at the county and state level. Over the past year, MoCo Pride Youth members have been involved in the development of the LGBTQ+ Studies Course set to pilot at MCPS high schools in the 2021-22 school year.
